“Its hard to track what I am earning, and then what I am spending, and especially on different wallets it is too time consuming. And then most of the times I spend money on whims , and then regret it later.”

–Ash 21yr

Bachat, counters the excessive digital spending trend by transforming the savings experience, through gamification. It turns saving into a journey where users fulfill small, engaging savings tasks, conquer goals, and manage money more mindfully.

In Bachat, you’re not just spending digitally—you’re saving digitally in a world you can build and conquer. With the added accountability of friends, Bachat transforms saving into a fun, social experience, making you want to save even more.”

Updates post user-testing

“I was never a saver, I didn’t save any money ever or even dessert for later. Few years ago I realised, having goals is an easy way to save, but.. could never build a habit.”

–Neha Joshi, 28yr

User Persona

How might we….?

Collected from a 20+ Gen-Z survey to understand their difficulties.

Collected upon further discussions from the subjects.

User testing was conducted primarily with Gen-z peers and the SAIC design cohort, providing valuable insights for refinement over the course of a month.

  1. We refined the navigation bar and added icons to simplify the user’s flow

  2. Simplified the usage of serif and san serif

Returning user’s prototype

“There’s a constant stress with managing money, plus honestly, it is very hard to track everything or prioritize saving with so many expenses and temptations around.

REFLECTIONS

UI/UX process was daunting, as a self learner. For this process recognizing a the core of the problem and finding a solution using design thinking was the most exciting process.

Here are a few of the key take ways from this project.

  • Always user test as much as possible: For this project i had multiple different iterations and i could not understand which one worked. Which was solved after i got my prototypes user tested, a lot of my questions got answered.

  • Keep talking to your peers for advice
